Camp Director
Laura Elliott has been on staff at the camp for the past 20 years. Laura began her career in camping when she was in college, directing the horseback-riding program at Camp Coleman 1986 through 1988. She was hired as the camp director in November of 1988 and directed her first season of summer camp in 1989.
Through the years, Laura has been responsible for the addition of many new activities and program areas, including Camp Coleman's outstanding low and high ropes courses and the climbing wall.
Laura holds current American Red Cross First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard, Basic Water Rescue, and Small Craft Safety certifications. She is a Lead Facilitator for low and high ropes, having completed over 250 hours of training. Laura holds Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) Instructor Certification at Level 4 in both English and Western. She is a member of the American Camp Association (ACA).

Equestrian Director
Camp Coleman's Equestrian Director, Aimee Canterbury, has taught horseback riding at the camp since 1992. She attended Camp Coleman as a child and progressed through the Wrangler in Training (WIT) program to become an instructor. While attending Auburn University, Aimee studied Animal and Dairy Science and was a member of the AU Equestrian Team. After college, Aimee worked in the Equestrian Program at Wesleyan College, teaching, coaching, and readying students for show competition. Through the years, Aimee has been responsible for the addition of new equestrian activities, including driving (horse and cart), vaulting, and reining.
In 2002, Camp Coleman began offering year-round riding lessons. Aimee holds Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) Instructor Certification at Level 4 in both English and Western. She also works as an Assistant Clinic Instructor, training, evaluating, and certifying other horseback instructors at CHA Standard Instructor Certification clinics. In addition, Aimee holds current American Red Cross First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard, Basic Water Rescue, and Small Craft Safety certifications.
