We're about growing stronger, feeling better about ourselves, having
fun. Girl Scout Camps are all about fun and adventure. It's
about meeting new friends and getting together with old
ones. Laughing. Swimming. Kayaking. Biking. Exploring. And
above all else, growing strong. So this year, make camp
all about what you want. Climb a mountain. Hike a trail.
Ride a horse. Shoot a bow and arrow. Be daring. Be outrageous.
Be a girl who can do anything she wants. Find out a lot
about who you are. And how much fun it is to be you.
Girls have the opportunity to experience the outdoors at one of two camps owned by the Girl
Scouts of Cahaba Council. Each camp provides trained staff members who are excited to share their
own talents as they encourage girls to explore new interests with an abundance of activities in a
safe, secure environment. Resident and day camping programs are available at both camps, as well
as troop camping.

Camp Coleman
Established in 1925, Camp Gertrude Coleman is located just 17 miles from downtown Birmingham in
Trussville, Alabama. Nestled on the banks of the Cahaba River, the camp's 140 acres offer the perfect
setting for outdoor adventures. No previous camping experience is required, just a desire to meet
new friends and have lots of fun!
Kanawahala Program Center (KPC)
KPC is located just off Highway 280 in Chelsea, Alabama on 600 acres of woods loaded with hiking
and biking trails. With its 40-acre private lake and junior Olympic-sized swimming pool, KPC is made
for girls who love water activities.
Troop Camping
Girl Scout troops/groups may schedule use of both camp
facilities for year-round activities. Enjoy
a fun-filled summer camp experience at Camp Coleman with
your whole troop (including leaders and moms). Meals will
be provided and a certified first-aider will be on duty.
Non-Member Services
Camp facilities are also available for corporate meetings, company meetings, retreats, training sessions,
and parties. The activities, lodging, meals, and staff will be adapted to your group's needs and
desires.
